Tools

To help you work smarter, not harder!

I’m all about teaching nonprofit organizations to work smarter, not harder and armed with the right tools, it’s possible!

Graphics:

  • WordSwag: Produce a social media graphic on the fly by downloading WordSwag on your phone!
  • Canva: Create professional looking flyers, social media graphics, brochures and more on your computer or phone.
  • Prisma: Apply amazing filters that will help you take your photo editing and posting to the next level!
  • Pablo by Buffer: Easy to create Social Media graphics with endless photo options and templates.

Videos:

  • Ripl: Create interesting and professional looking videos with a few simple touches of your phone.
  • PowToon: Video editing made easy! Create and edit videos and presentations that will definitely impress your clients and potential customers.
  • Ditty: You write the text and Ditty sings it!

Scheduling:

  • Hootsuite: Schedule, monitor and analyze multiple profiles on a variety of platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest).
  • Post Planner: Manage multiple profiles (Facebook/Twitter), find content, schedule it and recycle the really good stuff (post it more than once).*
  • Doodle: Scheduling a meeting, event or conference call? Let everyone involved weigh in with their availability so you don’t have to send a dozen emails!

Creativity/Inspiration:

  • Portent’s Content Idea Generator: Simply put in a word or phrase and ideas pop up on your screen with the click of your keyboard.
  • Sharethrough Headline Analyzer: Plug in your potential blog post or article headline and this site will give you a grade and scores based on engagement and impression.
  • Post Planner: Not only does Post Planner help you schedule your posts on Facebook and Twitter, but it also gives you articles, questions and graphics you can share at the click of a button.*
  • National Day Calendar: This site lists all the unusual holidays (think Mac & Cheese Day or World Emoji Day) for every day of the year. Believe it or not, there are several holidays each day.

Productivity:

  • StayFocusd: It blocks the websites that are ‘time sucks’ for a specific amount of time that you designate.
  • Notes App: The notes app on your Apple phone or tablet is a great way to stay organized, track all the brilliant things popping up in your head and more.

Outsourcing:

  • Fivver: This site is perfect for outsourcing projects such as graphics and design, writing, videos and more! It’s super affordable and the turnaround time is two days or less.*

More tools to love:

  • Bit.ly: This easy to use URL shortener allows you to shrink down unruly web addresses and to track and analyze the URLs that you’ve shortened.
  • Pretty Links: This WordPress plugin allows you to shirk, organize, track your URLs while customizing the link to something short, sweet and well, pretty.
  • Repost it!: Want to share someone’s post on Instagram? Download the Repost It! app and you’ll be happily reposting in seconds.
  • Grammarly: An internet browser plugin that scans your writing for grammar and spelling mistakes. It’s seriously genius.
